POSITION SUMMARY

The Rep’s Concessions Workers are responsible for providing excellent customer service, providing food and beverages for theatre patrons. This role requires dynamic individuals who can efficiently serve drinks, manage bar operations, and enhance the overall experience for guests. Concessions workers will assist in other Front of House operations, such as ushering and ticket scanning. This position is eligible to receive tips.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and stock the concessions area.
  • Greet patrons warmly, take drink orders, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes. Ensure consistency and quality in every drink.
  • Monitor and restock bar inventory, including drinks, snacks, liquor, mixers, and other supplies. Report low stock levels to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area. Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Handle cash, credit card, and other forms of payment.
  • Adhere to all state and local regulations. Check IDs to verify legal drinking age.
  • Assist with theatre operations as needed, including during intermissions and special events.
  • Work collaboratively with other theatre staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive guest experience.
  • Concessions Workers must provide proof of vaccination against Hepatitis B.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Previous experience in a bar or restaurant is preferred.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A love for the arts and theatre is a plus!
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform tasks that involve repetitive motion.

 

ENVIRONMENT 

This position requires the ability to work standing for several hours at a time. The work environment is an air-conditioned, smoke-free, theatre environment. This position routinely uses standard bar equipment such as bottle openers, corkscrews, knives, and dishwashers. Night and weekend work are a regular part of this position.
