This fragile, poetic memory play, set in St. Louis in the 1940’s, tells the story of the domineering Amanda Wingfield and her children, Tom and Laura. For a brief moment, they are lifted out of their desolation by a visit from a gentleman caller, but, finally, Amanda’s world unravels as Tom leaves home and Laura loses herself in her world of glass figurines.
